About Us: Founded in 1969, Scouting America Troop 1707 is a Coed Troop located in Troy, Michigan and welcomes both girls and boys to Scouting. The Troop holds monthly camp outs and attends an annual summer camp filled with fun and outdoor adventure. Our Scouts learn life skills, camping, hiking, leadership, cooking, wilderness survival, first aid and much more. Our Troop has weekly 7:00 p.m. meetings during the school year.
Trail to First Class (TTFC) Program: This program is our unique, one-of-a-kind hour long session from 6pm to 7pm before the main Troop meeting for those new and newer Scouts to work on rank advancement in a small group format with older Scouts. TTFC is an excellent, proven way to quickly immerse the new Scout into the Scouting program and make friends.
Our Scouts: Our Scouts are boys and girls and from Troy, Rochester, Birmingham, Beverly Hills, Sterling Heights, Clawson and other surrounding communities, and many attend Troy's middle schools, Troy High, Troy Athens and the International Academy East.
Join us for a weekly Troop Meeting! Get to know us better by attending a weekly Tuesday Troop meeting from 7pm to 8:30pm most Tuesdays during the school year. Location will be posted a week before on the home page of this website.
Campouts and Summer Camp: Our Troop holds varied monthly campouts during the school year centering on outdoor adventure, Scouting fundamentals and fun! Each summer we attend a Scout summer camp, usually out of state at various Scout Reservations.
Cub Scout Packs - Let Troop 1707 conduct your Pack meeting for you! Contact us to hold a "Let us hold your Pack Meeting for you" event in place of one of your Pack meetings and let us do the work for you! We will fry donuts, conduct activities and skill sessions, play "9 Square in the Air," and help with Cub Scout and Webelos advancement. Just email one of our Scoutmasters with the date and location of your event.
